Welcome to 2^nd grade!  Get ready for a fantastic 2013-2014 school year!  As we move through the school year, we will focus on many skills that will prepare you for success in the future. To help make it a successful school year, there are a few important things that the 2^nd grade teachers would like to share with you.
   The most important ways to start a great day are to eat a good breakfast, dress for success in your school uniform, and to arrive to school on time.  The second grade teachers expect all students to come to school prepared with the tools they need to be successful. Communication is very important.  Second grade teachers will use a student planner as a tool to communicate with parents.  It must be signed every night.  The planners are used daily to keep an open line of communication between parents and teachers.
     

Basic Supply List

1 backpack with NO WHEELS

8 plastic pocket folders with three prongs (2 red, 2 yellow,

2 blue, 2 green)

1, 1 inch black 3-ring binder

1 pack of sheet protectors

1 package of 5-8 count dividers

5 black and white, wide-ruled Composition notebooks

2 packs of wide-ruled notebook paper

3 large glue sticks

5, 12-packs of yellow #2 pencils

2 boxes of Kleenex tissues

1 ream of copy paper

1, 24-pack of crayons

1, 8-pack of markers

Crazy Hat Day

Today, September 17th was Crazy Hat Day because our class made our first goal in our fundraiser. Tomorrow is No Shoes day! Thank you parents for all of your sponsorship for the FUN RUN this Thursday!

Howdy Second Graders,

     Welcome to 2^nd grade!  Lasso up for a fantastic 2012-2013 school year!  As we gallop through the school year, we will focus on many skills that will prepare you for success in the future. To help saddle up for the school year, there are many important tidbits that the 2^nd grade ranchers (teachers) would like to share with you.         

   The most important things to start a plumb good day are to eat your chow, throw on your uniform, and to arrive to school on time.  The ranchers expect all cowboys and cowgirls to come to school prepared with all the tools they need to be successful. Communication is very important.  All ranchers will use a planner as a tool to communicate with your folks.  It must be signed every night.  The planners are used daily so your folks can converse with your ranchers.

      So our little cowboys and cowgirls are not bumps on a log , we would appreciate if you worked just a smidgen on the things down yonder:

*start practicing your addition and subtraction facts up to 18

*read at least 15 minutes every day

*practice writing about exciting summer activities
